Every gear your workshop needs

Real involute math — the same tooth geometry your CAD software expects. Not approximations, not clip-art.

⚙️

Spur Gears

External spur gears with module, teeth, pressure angle, profile shift, backlash, center bore with keyway and bolt-circle mounting holes.

Internal Ring Gears

Ring gears with inward-pointing involute teeth for planetary sets and gearboxes — with outer blank diameter and rim bolt holes.

Gear Racks

Straight racks with true pressure-angle flanks and configurable backing height — for linear motion and steering builds.

Chain Sprockets

Roller-chain sprockets with proper seating curves — chain pitch, roller diameter, bore and mounting holes included.

Bevel Gears

Straight bevel gears via the Tredgold approximation — developed tooth profile plus true cone angles and blank dimensions.

From idea to cut part in 3 steps

No installs, no CAD license. If you can drag a slider, you can make a gear.

Set parameters

Module, teeth, bore, pressure angle — watch the live blueprint preview update as you drag.

Export the file

Free SVG instantly. Premium unlocks layered DXF (OUTLINE / TEETH / HOLES) for laser, plasma, waterjet and wire EDM.

Cut it

Load the DXF straight into your cutter software. Kerf compensation keeps dimensions true to size.

Built for real workshops

Every feature exists because someone cutting metal asked for it.

📐

True involute flanks

Mathematically exact involute tooth profiles with correct pressure angle — gears that actually mesh.

🗂️

Layered DXF

Profiles, teeth and holes land on separate DXF layers so your CAM software can assign cut operations cleanly.

⚡

Kerf & EDM compensation

Enter your cut width or wire diameter + spark gap — the profile offsets automatically so finished parts measure right.

🔩

Mounting holes

Bolt circles, center bores and keyways are part of the profile — no post-processing in CAD.

🔄

Metric & imperial

Work in millimeters or inches; enter module or diametral pitch. The math stays metric-precise underneath.

🎞️

Live animation

Watch your gear spin in the preview before you commit to metal.

Simple, honest pricing

SVG is free forever. Premium pays for the precision features workshops depend on.

Questions, answered

Is the SVG really free?

Yes — unlimited SVG downloads, no account needed, forever. Premium exists for the DXF + EDM precision features that cost us real engineering.

What is kerf compensation?

Laser, plasma and waterjet remove material as they cut (the kerf). Wire EDM removes wire-radius plus spark gap. GearForge offsets the profile by half your cut width so the finished part matches your drawing.

Will the DXF work with my laser software?

The DXF is metric (mm), R12-compatible LWPOLYLINE on named layers — it loads in LightBurn, RDWorks, Mach3, Fusion 360, AutoCAD and most CAM tools.

Do the gears actually mesh?

Yes — flanks are true involutes with correct pressure angle, and teeth narrow toward the tip exactly like standard gears. Same module + pressure angle gears mesh; add a little backlash for smooth running.

Can I use the files commercially?

Yes. Anything you generate is yours — cut it, sell it, no attribution needed.

Your next gear is 30 seconds away.

No signup. No install. Just sliders, a preview, and a file.
